The regional public health action of the IOC is gaining momentum with the European Union’s contribution to the SEGA – One Health Network. The European Union funding has been delegated to the Agence française de développement (AFD), through a funding agreement signed with the IOC in December 2020.
Objective
Improve Member States’ prevention and response capacities in the face of pandemic and epidemic risks.
Specific objectives
With this funding from the European Union, the RSIE project will :
- Complete the health monitoring and response activities already implemented as part of the RSIE3 project financed by the AFD;
- Strengthen national laboratory systems;
- Promote regional cooperation through the IOC’s SEGA-One Health Network
This public health project, known as RSIE 4, will contribute to maintaining health security and mitigating the impact of epidemics and pandemics.
