Project Description

This European Union-funded food security program aims to reduce malnutrition and food insecurity in the Indian Ocean region, particularly among children aged 0-5 and pregnant women.


The specific objectives of the project are to improve national and regional capacities for :

  • agri-food production
  • commercialization of commodity chains
  • respect for phytosanitary standards


  • Promote high-quality agricultural practices (economically sustainable agro-ecological intensification, resilient to the impacts of climate change and sensitive to nutrition, certified seeds, integrated pest control, etc.).
  • Raising awareness and helping vulnerable populations diversify their diets
  • Strengthening food safety and health security at regional level
  • Improving information for governments on food and nutrition security in each country
